For this weeks project, the design team were asked to create for the theme of Spring Flowers. For my project I made a 5"x5" square card using patterned paper from the  Zodiac big Kahuna bundle  to create two matt layers. For the main feature of my card, I had to use the Spring Daisy Gnome  digital image. I coloured the image using soft pastel colours which also matched the patterned paper I used. To finish the card off, I used some glossy accents over the word spring to give a glossy texture and I used my Gelly roll white gel pen to add polkadots to the Gnome's hat. Be sure to check out the other design team projects on the  Polkadoodles Digi Choosday . blog and say hi. Happy Craft...

In the centre of the card I used the Pancake Heaven - pre-coloured miss sugarpops digital stamp  This was a really quick card to make as I used the pre-coloured digital stamp but look how cute it turned out.  Playing with digital stamps has completely opened my eyes to a whole new world of crafting.   Hi all, me again with another card using the latest release from  Alex Syberia Designs . As you can see I created this card using one of the backgrounds I created using the  Modern Weave stenci l  from my last post..   I die cut a portion of the stencil using one of my basic Circle dies from Sizzix and cut a smaller circle from glitter cardstock and adhered to the centre of the larger circle.  I then used the cute little penguin from the Smile and Wave stamp set and for my sentiment I used the Thanks die  which I die cut using black cardstock. To complete my card I added some small hearts from Lucy's Cards. I adore this little thanks card and had so much fun putting this together. I hope you like my card. and manage to get some crafty time. Happy Crafting! Mel x

Alex Syberia Designs - Modern Weave Layering Stencils

Image
Hi all  So before Christmas I pledged towards the Alex Syberia Designs full release bundle and I was so pleased when they had reached their target as this meant their first physical product went straight into production and I received the bundle just before Christmas. I have now been able to spend some time today playing with the Modern Weave stenci l which is just amazing! So versatile and can be changed up with colour to create all kinds of backgrounds for all style of cards . In this colour example, I used Distress Oxide colours. I used pine needles, lucky clover and twisted citron. The stencils are so easy to line up and they are numbered so it takes the guess work out of knowing which one to use first. The stencils are really sturdy so you won't have any problems with them bending out of shape. Other examples of the backgrounds I created are below: In this example the Distress Oxide colours I used were - peacock feathers, wild honey and picked raspberry. Here are the o...

Polkadoodles - Red & Green Christmas project

Image
Morning Crafters, This week the design team were tasked to create a Christmas project but keeping to red and green as our colour palette. For my project I created a Christmas card.    I used the Rudolph Reindeer Wreath digital image - I coloured the image in using my spectrum noir alcohol markers using traditional Red and Green colours but overlaid the red with an embossing pen so that I could add some red glitter embossing powder which created some sparkle and texture. For my sentiment “ Believe” I used the Winnie White Christmas sentiment bundle - which I printed using my laser printer so that I could cover with green deco foil and ran through my laminator to give a foiled effect. To complete the card, I cut out elements of a poinsettia flower using my scan and cut machine and adhered this to the right side of the card. I really wish you could see this card in real life – It’s just full of texture and sparkle! Happy Crafting! Mel x Challenges entered ...
